George Boole 200 launch for UCC colleagues
George Boole, UCC's first professor of mathematics and father of the information age, turns 200 on 2 November 2015. UCC will celebrate his life and legacy during this bicentenary year with a programme of events that will shine a global spotlight on George Boole, his close connections to UCC and our tradition of independent thinking.
This event will feature the official launch of Professor Emeritus Des MacHale's seminal biography of George Boole, The Life and Work of George Boole: A Prelude to the Digital Age(Cork University Press,2014), which has been reissued for the bicentenary celebration. Signed copies will be available at the discounted price of €15.00
